MUSEUM OF LONDON PROJECT 2017
I went on a trip to the Museum of London for a workshop with Marysa Dowling, a photographer and went 'behind the scene' in the Museum of London where we viewed a variety of photographs. I was able to see a photograph named: 'Battersea Power Station 18', Vertiginous acceleration and many others from a collection.
It was a great opportunity because I was able to view the photographs on a larger scale and we had discussions about the photographs and what kind of medium they photographer used to take it, what the purpose/focus was and if it was intentional.
We had a visual literacy game where there was one photograph between a pair and one person was to describe how the image looked whilst the other had to sketch it out based on their partners description because they are unable to view the image.
Lastly we was assigned to go outside to the front section of the Museum and take 10 photographs of our peers and select 1 photo to print out at the end and evaluate it.

I selected this photograph from my collection to print out because I liked the composition and formal elements in the background. I instructed my model to tilt her head slightly so that she was in sync with the flow of the diagonal lines behind her. I had her stand on top of the pillar so that she was at a height above the camera lens to get the background behind her. When you first look at the image the main focus is on her light brown jacket and then your eye moves down to the background, the green bushes contrasts to the light brown as it contains a lighter shade and it is the brightest within the photograph. The sculpture on the left corner is actually a scribe with a curve edge, I like how the curved edge is included as it looks as if it is curving into the image and it adds more texture to the photograph as the brick wall has a lot of lines flowing across.
