Series of photographs on a photowalk
I went on walks around Charing cross station and took two picture in Victoria station.
When I was taking the photographs I took in consideration of the composition, light, space and shape; I was considering shadows however, there was no vibrant sunlight during the day so I did not get many shadows in my photographs but I did try to focus the lighting in the alley way and lowered the brightness on my phone which brought out the shadows in the photograph. Instead of looking for shadows in a few pictures I was considering reflections and the lamplight glares in the frame.

Evaluation
This is one of my successful photographs as it meets the criteria including shadow, light and space. It was a gloomy day which is why the tone of this photograph appears quite dull and dark; it was intentional to lower the brightness on the camera so that the centre of the alleyway can be seen.
Now that I look at this photograph you can see a shape within this photograph, it almost looks like there is a smaller box in the centre with lines running out of the corners to form a larger rectangle closer to the camera lens which takes the shape of the doorway. Next time I should focus on standing directly opposite the centre and scale the frame evenly so it is straight. To solve this I could crop off the excess ground so the frame will look even and the focus of the image will be more clear as the ground at the bottom looks messy and it is lighter. |
In my opinion this is the least successful photograph although on the window the lights all merge well with a good yellow tone but there are too much going on. On the platform there are a lot of lights which merges with the lights inside the train and it gives a lot of glare and reflection on the window. There are many shapes and lines in the frame but I think the seats inside the train interrupted the flow of the lines exiting the frame on the right, I could of moved the camera a little to the left but I think my reflection would appear in the window.
