Albert Renger-Patzsch was a german photographer who began making photographs at the age of 12. In the early 1920's he worked as a press photographer then became a freelancer and published his own books.
His best-known book was his second publish called 'Die Welt ist Schön' which translates to 'The World Is Beautiful' - it is a collection of one hundred of his photographs that contained 'natural forms, industrial subjects and mass produced objects presented with scientific illustrations'. Renger-Patzsch was associated with the new objectivity; it was a german movement that rose during 1920's as a reaction against expressionism. The New Objectivity had many meanings in German such as, 'New Resignation', 'New Sobriety' etc. An art historian implied the 'New Objectivity' was more forward to political actions. |
